My Story
Throughout my 26 years working in education and wellbeing, I have had the privilege of supporting young people, parents, families, and individuals through many of life’s challenges, transitions, and defining moments. These experiences have shaped my understanding that behind every behaviour, emotion, or struggle is a person with their own experiences, relationships, and circumstances that influence who they are.
My journey into counselling has grown from a deep curiosity about people — what shapes us, what influences the way we see ourselves and others, and what helps us navigate change. I have always been drawn to understanding the human experience and the importance of connection, compassion, and feeling truly understood.
Alongside my professional experience, my own life experiences as a partner of 20 years and a parent of teenagers have provided insight into the many stages and seasons of life — the joys, challenges, expectations, and transitions that shape families and relationships. I understand the complexities of supporting others while also finding space to reconnect with ourselves.
At On The Ball Counselling, I believe every person’s journey deserves to be met with curiosity, respect, and compassion. My role is to walk alongside clients as they make sense of their experiences, navigate change, and discover new perspectives that support growth and wellbeing.
Every chapter of life brings opportunities for reflection and change. Sometimes we need support to better understand where we have been, where we are now, and what we would like the next chapter to look like to take the next step forward.

My approach
Gentle, informed, and grounded in hope
At On The Ball Counselling, the focus is on creating a therapeutic space where clients can explore their experiences with curiosity, compassion, and understanding. Counselling is a collaborative process, where together we explore thoughts, life experiences, and patterns of behaviour to develop greater self-awareness and meaningful steps forward.
Drawing on evidence-informed approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), alongside mindfulness-based practices, somatic-informed approaches, creative approaches, and strengths-based counselling, sessions are tailored to support each individual’s needs, goals, and circumstances.
These approaches are integrated with practical counselling tools to support clients navigating experiences such as anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, decision-making, grief and loss, identity, and personal growth.
The aim is to provide a warm and grounded environment where clients can gain clarity, reconnect with their strengths, and develop the tools and confidence to navigate life’s challenges with greater resilience and self-understanding.
